Description
The serene is the perfect destination for the seniors who seek liberation and a gratifying retirement period. This is a fully equipped luxury retirement resort with hospitality, leisure activities and treatments. With the concept of luxury tropical, targeting the VIP senior citizens who seeks extreme comfort and relaxation. Sri Lankan context of seniors are familiar with tropical interior as in it gives away a home-like feeling. The color palette for the design was selected from the natural elements, along with natural material usage of rattan, bamboo and teak along with local cotton fabrics. This retirement resort is a space where it feels like home and be able to enjoy as in a resort environment. The achievable accommodate amount is 40 senior citizens at once. The design is done in a way to satisfy all types of senior citizens as ones with physical or psychological disabilities. Hand railings in common areas, supporting bars in bathrooms and usage of ramps are some examples. The comfort and accessibility to the user have been critically considered throughout the design process as the furniture arrangement, material selection and space allocation. Natural lighting and ventilation methods are highly supported in this design as in it's the most favorable method for HVAC by the senior citizens. In space allocation other than the main spaces like reception, administration, bedrooms and restaurant this retirement resort contains many recreational spaces. Convention area, private discussion rooms and aesthetic spaces as library, reading and board game sections, music studio, Yoga room, art studio and mini theatre are included. As for physical exercises areas as tennis court, walking path, cycling lane, swimming pool and gardening have been arranged in this space. The objective of this design to create a space with hospitality, relaxation and amusing memories for the elderly community in Sri Lanka and to give away an extraordinary and astounding retirement period.
